Our group is small but growing strong with around 10 active participants. Made up of Uniteens ages 11-13 (grades 6-8) and Youth Of Unity (YOU) ages 14-18 (grades 9-12), we are currently meeting together with an opportunity to separate as we expand, and the kids age up.
The teen group meets every Sunday at 10:00am in our own space for discussion and learning. Our aim at Unity of Olympia is to make this an inclusive 3rd space for our growing freedom and justice warriors.
This group engages in discussions and activities to explore a variety of spiritual teachings & ceremonies, Unity principles & history, anthropology, guided meditations, and fun! Looking to the future it is our goal for this group to take full ownership and lead their own programming and activities with guidance. Because this is their space to co-create and thrive, we are putting the "YOU" in YOUers and Uniteens.
With the reopening of our teen program in the fall of 2023, we are off to a great and growing start! Thus far, the teens have been involved in several holiday celebrations, group outings (Pier Peer with the Puget Sound Estuarium), a monthly pancake fundraiser (for Unity NW Region sponsored camps, rallies, & retreats), and community service projects (creating Houseless Kits to hand to those in need) to name a few.
We are glad you are here and invite you and your teen to check us out! Our Teen Program Lead is Kyle Leapline and you can reach him here.
Interested in camps, rallies, and retreats for your teen? These happen throughout the year and we are committed to making these available to our teens (and financially viable for our families). Check out the calendar of events here and reach out to Kyle if your teen is interested in participating.
