@TBH in the Unity Classroom
Haiku is a poetry form that, used as a spiritual practice, helps users focus on living in the ‘present’. It can help slow down your busy life or busy mind by focusing on one moment to reach a fuller sensory experience and richness of that moment. The class is open to non-writers/non-poets, as well as experienced writers/poets. Our goal is to guide you to get in touch with your “Haiku Moment.”
“Haiku Moment: a moment when the mind stops and the heart moves.” -M.D. McGee
In class you will learn to write haiku poems that please you. Using haiku basics, writing exercises and gentle guidance, you will learn to use images and your senses to bring feelings to life.
Haiku journals will be available to borrow and haiku online is available on many sites, including: TheHeronsNest.com, ModernHaiku.org, and ColdMoonJournal.blogspot.com
