Haiku...as a spiritual practice
Be present with your life

Sundays, April 14 - May 26th (no class April 28) at 11:30am

Facilitated by Susan Roberts

Haiku is a poetry form that, used as a spiritual practice, helps users focus on living in the ‘present’.  It can help slow down your busy life by focusing on one moment to reach a fuller sensory experience and richness of that moment.  The class is open to non-writers/non-poets, as well as experienced writers/poets.  Our goal is to guide you to get in touch with your “Haiku Moment.”

“Haiku Moment: a moment when the mind stops and the heart moves.” -M.D. McGee

In class you will review a brief haiku history, learn haiku basics, both classic and American versions, participate in writing exercises, and discuss how to move forward using haiku.  You will use images and your senses to bring feelings to life.

We encourage your registration in advance to provide materials as needed.

Childcare available upon request.
