Easy, level, paved 2‑mile out‑and‑back stroll
Tea provided (no coffee) and a warm restroom available before we head out
A herd of 34 elk was spotted earlier this week — no guarantees, but a fun possibility
Dogs welcome on leash; possible off‑leash with Steve’s approval
Plenty of parking available in the yard

Details:
Easy 2‑mile hike, dogs on leash welcome
Begins on a paved path, crosses a boardwalk, then continues on a fairly level forest trail with some rocks and roots
Optional sack lunch afterward
One picnic table available
Consider bringing a folding chair
If weather is poor, we may choose a nearby café instead
Sturdy walking shoes are sufficient
Bring water and dress for the weather
