Minister’s Message
Dear Friends,
The Revealing Word says that “Divine Love is broad and unlimited, a universal and harmonizing power.” Being an attribute of our Source, Divine Love exists within each of us and is waiting for our direction to bring about courage, peace, and harmony in our lives.
The mystics of all traditions provide us with words to contemplate as we engage with this innate power. Rumi is quoted as having said “Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love. It will not lead you astray.” Turning within to the Truth of our Beings, and being open to our Source, brings us an experience of love greater than any worldly experience can bring us. And yet – this is the point at which our human experience is a spiritual experience.
This month we invite Rumi to join us every Sunday and call forth the mystic within each of us. As we celebrate Valentine’s Day and welcome the first day of Lent, both of which are dedicated to love, we honor the commonalities in diverse spiritual teachings. At Unity of Olympia, one of our stated values is Evolving Spirituality. As we open to these three traditions – Sufi, American, and Christian – we open our hearts to greater understanding and expression of the power of Divine Love.
