Namaste
“The divine in me, honors the divine in you.”
We are all familiar with Namaste. Some may already incorporate Namaste into our meditation, yoga, or other spiritual practices, and some of us may have only seen Namaste painted across mugs and throw pillows at stores like Ross and TJ Maxx.
Namaste is an ancient Sanskrit word that is sacred in the Hindu tradition. In contemporary language Namaste literally translates to “bowing to you.” In Hinduism, Namaste holds the spiritual belief of “the divine and self, is same in you and me” with the term Namaste meaning “the sacred in me recognizes the sacred in you.”
